Most of our Muslin Backgrounds come with the option of choosing a 50/50 cotton polyester blend or 100 % cotton. There are two main conveniences of purchasing a 50/50 blend. Low Price and Less Weight. There is one downfall however. They wrinkle more often unless they are continuosly hung on a track system or roller. Many photographers like this wrinkling, some don't. If you own a $15-$30 portable steamer to carry on location... the 50/50 is for you! But, if you have to fly all over the country and space is limited, 100% cotton is a better choice. They hang better and are less likely to produce hard line wrinkles in your photograph. (tip)Personally, I would travel with a personal steamer if you are out on location no matter what background you purchase, and I always tape them down so eliminate wrinkles. Whether it be from us or any other background and backdrop retailer! Our backgrounds come without rod pockets and grommets because I rarely see a professional photographer use them. Clamps, binder clips and duct tape - a professionals trio of friends! If rod pockets or grommets are needed please handle your order as special and send us an email so we may further assist you.
Background Care:
All of our backgrounds can be washed off with clean water or a mild liquid soap. Rinse off soap thoroughly. Do not use an abrasive cleaner or scouring pad to wipe. Use a soft cloth. Our backgrounds have been washed using commercial washers and dryers using a liquid detergent and tumble dried on low. We do not recommend multiple washes over short periods of time, but when a cheerleader vomits on your backdrop... we understand an occassion comes when hand washing won't do the job.
